A total of 1,821 students from Álava will sit for the University Entrance Exams (PAU) this June. The examinations will be held at the Álava campus, starting on Tuesday, June 2nd, and concluding on Thursday, June 4th. Of these students, 561 will take the exams in Spanish and 1,260 in Basque.
The exams will commence with Basque, followed by a choice between History of Spain or History of Philosophy. On Wednesday, students will be tested on Spanish Language and Literature II, and on Thursday, on English. Other subjects such as Biology, Portuguese, Applied Mathematics to Social Sciences II, Physics, Geography, Technology and Engineering II, or Dramatic Literature will also be part of the schedule.
The PAU exams are divided into two phases: access and admission. The access phase includes five compulsory exercises, while the admission phase is voluntary and can add up to four additional points. This year, the changes implemented in 2025 are maintained, featuring a single model per subject lasting 90 minutes, with a focus on competency-based learning rather than rote memorization.
The use of mobile phones, smartwatches, and all other electronic devices is prohibited and they must be turned off and placed in a designated area. Exceptionally, computers may be used for specific subjects, provided they do not have internet connectivity and are supplied by the examination organizers. Calculators will also be permitted in certain exams, as long as they meet a specific list of technical requirements.
For those unable to attend this June session, who do not pass, or do not achieve the required score, there is an extraordinary session scheduled for June 30th and July 1st and 2nd. The results for the ordinary session will be published on June 10th, and requests for exam review can be submitted from June 11th to 15th.
