The city's tram service, affectionately known as the “green worm,” will extend its operating hours on the eve of San Prudencio, April 27th. This marks the fourth major festivity for which the Vitoria-Gasteiz tram will offer a special service, alongside celebrations such as La Blanca, New Year's Eve, and Carnival.
This special service will connect all tram branches. The full route between Abetxuko and Unibertsitatea will be operational, as will the line connecting Ibaiondo with Salburua. A tram will depart from the start of the line every half hour, resulting in a fifteen-minute frequency on the common section between Honduras and Florida. The service will run uninterrupted from the early morning of April 27th until the night of April 28th.
The special tram service will be complemented by Tuvisa's Gautxori night buses. These buses cover six city routes and operate every Friday, Saturday, and on the eve of public holidays.
Although the San Prudencio festivities have evolved and no longer hold the same prominence as years ago, they maintain a strong tradition. While the afternoon and daytime celebrations on April 28th have gained popularity over the night revelry of April 27th, many people still go out to enjoy the night. In this context, Josely Anaiak will perform again in the Plaza del Arca, the Tamborrada will parade through the streets of Vitoria-Gasteiz, and there will be a festive atmosphere in numerous bars, pubs, and nightclubs.
