This morning, the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council will convene for a new session of the municipal Plenary, combining procedural matters with legal issues. However, much of the focus will be on three motions addressing significant social and political topics within the city.
Among the key proposals is one presented by Elkarrekin, advocating for the recognition of the Gao Lacho Drom settlement and the municipal commitment against anti-Romani sentiment. This issue will gain particular prominence as the Gao Lacho Drom Roma Association will have a public speaking slot during the session to directly present their viewpoint.
The motion concerning the recognition of the Gao Lacho Drom settlement and the municipal commitment against anti-Romani sentiment is one of the most socially charged items on today's agenda.
Another important motion to be debated is the initiative from the Partido Popular of Vitoria-Gasteiz regarding the public funding of Korrika in the city, an issue expected to spark lively political discussion. Concurrently, EH Bildu Gasteiz will defend its proposal to enhance the provision of early childhood education places in the southern districts of the municipality.
Prior to these motions, the session will address the approval of the minutes from the previous plenary and various matters related to the municipal Legal Advisory service. The agenda will conclude with a list of decrees from the Mayor's Office and resolutions from delegated council departments issued during March, which were submitted late by various services.
