Vitoria-Gasteiz Approves Contracts and Subsidies Exceeding 3.6 Million Euros

The Local Government Board of Vitoria-Gasteiz convened this Friday to address an agenda featuring agreements totaling 3,667,764.66 euros, encompassing contracts, subsidy agreements, and internal organizational decisions.

Among the most significant items is the approval of the 2026 public employment offer for the Local Police, which includes 25 agent positions and one deputy commissioner post. Additionally, a technical assistance contract for safety and health in public works, services, and supplies has been awarded for 387,200 euros.
The Mayor's Office department presented three financial agreements. The largest is the selection of a provider for Basque language courses organized by the Basque Language Service, budgeted at 960,000 euros. A contract for online oral expression sessions in Basque for primary school students was also approved, valued at 108,000 euros. Lastly, the advertising sponsorship for the IronMan 2026 Vitoria-Gasteiz event was awarded for 125,000 euros.
The Culture and Education area includes a substantial number of nominative subsidy agreements. The contract for the children's and youth play and adventure space in Arriaga Park during the La Blanca festivities has been awarded for 49,987.90 euros. Subsidies for cultural projects such as Magialdia 2026 (87,500 euros), the Ortzi Cultural Association (40,000 euros), Poetas en Mayo (30,000 euros), the Vitoria-Gasteiz Chamber Cycle (15,000 euros), and the Jazz 2026 Festival (12,000 euros) are also being processed.
Furthermore, an agreement with the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) for the critical study and edition of Vitoria-Gasteiz's municipal records from 1423-1500 has been included, with aid amounting to 13,000 euros. In Public Space and Neighborhoods, the improvement of public lighting for 2025 (237,408.39 euros) and the environmental control service for the Green Ring (Anillo Verde) for 2026-2030 (441,408 euros) have been awarded.
The Administration Modernization Department is handling several files related to invoices and system renewals, notably the contract for renewing the IBM Power infrastructure for 364,228.33 euros and the maintenance of automatic security installations for 486,017.07 euros. Invoices from Telefónica, Esri España, Derten, and Iberdrola Clientes have also been validated, alongside a subsidy agreement with ACLIMA for promoting local productive sustainability, amounting to 2,000 euros.
