Three waste containers and an ONCE kiosk were completely destroyed by fire in Vitoria-Gasteiz's Judimendi neighborhood, adding to a series of incidents affecting street furniture and vehicles across the city.

Firefighters received an alert around 02:40 AM last night regarding a fire on Judimendi Avenue, which engulfed three waste containers and an ONCE kiosk. Shortly after 03:30 AM, another call reported a fire in containers on Extremadura Street, which was fortunately extinguished with only one vandalized waste bin affected.
These events are part of a recent wave of fires in the Álava capital, impacting both waste containers and parked vehicles. Concentrated in neighborhoods like Judimendi and Zabalgana, these incidents have repeatedly mobilized firefighters, the Local Police, and the Ertzaintza, who are conducting ongoing investigations to determine the origin of the blazes, many of which show signs of intentionality.
One of the most notable incidents this year occurred on January 25 on Reina Sofía Avenue, where a fire initially started in a cardboard container completely incinerated two vehicles. The flames spread rapidly due to strong winds, first reaching a plastic container and then the cars and a nearby tree. Similarly, on March 19, two cars caught fire in the early hours of the morning, around 04:00 AM, on Iruña Veleia Avenue.
This series of incidents is reminiscent of a severe sequence of fires a year ago, when multiple attacks were reported in the Judimendi area in a single night. During that early morning, a dozen vehicles and twelve containers were counted as destroyed. The fires spread consecutively through the area, starting on Ricardo Puga Street and concluding on Judimendi Avenue, the same street where three waste containers and a kiosk burned this past morning.
