Vitoria-Gasteiz will host the school rugby festival from May 15 to 17 with the Araba Rugby Cup, an event that will bring together over 1,100 schoolchildren to celebrate sport and its core values.

The Araba Rugby Cup is set to enrich Vitoria-Gasteiz's sports calendar, gathering over 1,100 schoolchildren at the Lakua 03 facilities. This event promises more than just sports, complemented by activities such as music, traditional Basque sports (herri kirolak), and food trucks.
Between May 15 and 17, 65 mixed teams from 15 clubs will compete, bringing together players aged between 8 and 14. Participants will come from various regions including Madrid, Catalonia, Galicia, Valencia, Asturias, and Lleida, giving the tournament a national scope.
The tournament is organized by Gaztedi Rugby Taldea and will feature sub-8, sub-10, sub-12, and sub-14 categories. It will be supported by over 150 volunteers, ensuring the smooth organization and execution of the event.
In addition to the sporting activities, a 'Fan Zone' will be set up at Lakua 03, offering musical performances, raffles, tortilla contests, traditional 'cabezudos' (big-heads), herri kirolak exhibitions, a craft fair, and food trucks. This area aims to introduce the world of rugby to the general public.

"The Araba Rugby Cup is a non-competitive tournament where the greatest prize will be awarded to the club that best represents the values of rugby."
