Oier Lopez de Gauna, a 33-year-old technician, has found his professional path at INDESA, a Special Employment Center of the Provincial Council of Álava, underscoring the company's commitment to facilitating labor market access for people with disabilities. He studied Business Administration and Management in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
He first learned about INDESA during university internships. After completing them, he submitted his CV and had an interview with the company's psychologist. Although there wasn't an immediate opening related to his studies, he was contacted months later about a vacancy for an administrative technician, marking the beginning of his career at the company.
Initially, he worked in the finance department, covering temporary positions. Later, he successfully passed a selection process and secured a role in reception. After a few months, he was offered a promotion and has now been working as an administrative technician in Human Resources for a year.
Regarding his work, Oier particularly values the flexibility and benefits offered by INDESA. On a personal level, he highlights the company's facilitation of labor market access for individuals with disabilities, noting that he felt welcomed from the outset, unlike in some previous experiences.
Outside of work, Oier enjoys traveling; his most recent trip was to Norway, and he plans to visit Egypt soon. He has also recently taken up watching anime and likes to cycle in the mountains on weekends when visiting his parents.
On the societal perception of disability, Oier believes that society should understand that all people are equal and that having a disability does not necessarily imply a limitation. He emphasizes the importance of valuing individuals for their skills and capabilities, rather than their disability.
He recently watched the anime series Hunter × Hunter, which explores values such as empathy and friendship, and examines character behaviors and the influence of one's upbringing.
