The Ertzaintza arrested a 35-year-old man in Vitoria-Gasteiz yesterday for his alleged involvement in a violent robbery that occurred in the Old Town last February, following an investigation.

Officers from the Ertzaintza, as a result of an ongoing investigation, arrested a 35-year-old man yesterday in Vitoria-Gasteiz. He is suspected of involvement in a violent robbery that took place in the Alavese capital last February.
The incident attributed to the now-detained individual occurred during the early hours of February 27. A 37-year-old Spanish national was accosted in the Old Town area of Vitoria-Gasteiz by two individuals who violently assaulted him, causing him to fall. Once on the ground, they immobilized him and stole his mobile phone.
Upon learning of the incident, the Ertzaintza launched an investigation. The inquiries conducted led to the identification of one of the alleged assailants: a 35-year-old man of Maghrebi origin, with numerous prior arrests for similar criminal acts.
The suspect was located yesterday afternoon, Thursday, and subsequently arrested on charges of violent robbery. He was then transferred to police facilities for the necessary procedures. The investigation remains open to determine the identity of his accomplice.
