Kirolklub has confirmed to its members the closure of the Gamarra gym in Vitoria-Gasteiz, aiming to improve and ensure the continuity of services at the Mendizorrotza facilities.

Kirolklub has confirmed the closure of its gym in Gamarra, a decision intended to guarantee the quality and sustainability of the service offered at the Mendizorrotza facilities. This measure comes amid a proliferation of gyms in Vitoria-Gasteiz and has been communicated to its members.
According to the company, concentrating activity at the Mendizorrotza complex is the most suitable option to ensure the long-term viability of the service. Mendizorrotza is described as “a reference sports environment that allows for higher quality, better equipment, and a more complete experience for users.”
Kirolklub operates under a service concession currently managed by Urbaser. However, Urbaser has confirmed it will not continue, and the City Council has launched a new tender, which will apply only to the Mendizorrotza facilities. The closure of Gamarra is expected to coincide with the start of the new concession, scheduled for autumn or winter.
Meanwhile, the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council is exploring options for the Gamarra facilities. In March, Gaztedi proposed to the City Council converting Gamarra into a rugby-dedicated space, which would include using the current Kirolklub premises as a new gym for the city's sports clubs. This proposal has not yet received municipal confirmation.
