This year's International Convention of European Geoparks will take place in the city of Lappeenranta, Finland, from Wednesday to Friday. Representatives from the Basque Coast Geopark will be present, actively participating in the assembly.
As is customary, the three-day convention will feature keynote speeches, oral presentations, and workshops. Leire Barriuso, head of the Basque Coast Geopark, will deliver a presentation on the XI Open Days of Geoparks, scheduled for October 7th and 8th, on the second day of the convention.
Furthermore, Asier Hilario Oruse, Coordinator of the IUGS Working Group on Geological Heritage and Scientific Director of the Geopark, will lead a workshop titled Geoconservation in UNESCO Global Geoparks. On the third day of the meeting, field trips will be conducted within the UNESCO Saimaa World Geopark.
