Vitoria-Gasteiz was hit by a strong storm in the late afternoon, bringing dark skies, flooded streets, and loud thunder, as part of a yellow alert issued by AEMET.

The stormy front made its presence felt in Vitoria-Gasteiz during the mid-afternoon, leaving behind scenes of leaden skies, waterlogged streets, and the rumble of thunder, characteristic of storms at this time of year.
AEMET had maintained a yellow alert for storms in the Llanada Alavesa throughout the day, with a particular likelihood from late afternoon into the night. Euskalmet had forecast 'evolving clouds' and 'locally heavy showers,' accompanied by thunderstorms, hail, and strong gusts of wind, as part of a period of spring instability. This situation is far from the exceptional hailstorm experienced in July 2023.
The weather warnings remain active overnight, with a high probability of further stormy showers until dawn.
