Gamarra and Mendizorrotza Pools Exceed Last Year's Visitor Numbers

Over 438,000 swimmers have visited the facilities this summer, with attendance peaking during hot weather days.

The municipal pools of Gamarra and Mendizorrotza have welcomed 438,288 users this season, surpassing the 415,141 bathers from last year.

Ana López de Uralde, the Councilor for Sport for the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council, stated that "the attendance figures highlight the importance of the municipal pools as an essential public service. During the current high-temperature episodes, Gamarra and Mendizorrotza are consolidating as spaces that contribute to citizens' well-being and quality of life, offering safe environments for leisure and sports, and fostering intergenerational coexistence."
Both complexes opened on May 22nd. Gamarra will remain open until September 6th, while Mendizorrotza will close its doors on September 13th. The hot weather has encouraged many residents to visit these facilities.
Mendizorrotza has received 288,531 users, and Gamarra has recorded 149,757 visitors. With these numbers, Gamarra has already surpassed last year's 124,587 bathers.
The days with the highest attendance coincided with the hottest temperatures. On Monday, June 22nd, when thermometers reached 38.3 degrees Celsius, Mendizorrotza welcomed 9,036 people. Gamarra saw its busiest day on Sunday, June 22nd, with 6,100 users.
