The Ertzaintza intervened in two nightclubs in Vitoria during the early morning in an operation to search for drugs and bladed weapons, seizing five weapons, investigating one person, and arresting another.

During the early hours, the Ertzaintza carried out an intervention in two nightclubs in Vitoria, with the aim of searching for narcotics and bladed weapons. The operations took place in establishments located in San Antón Square and Florida Street, according to customer accounts. The interventions lasted for over an hour in each case, completely halting the festive activities.
Police sources have framed this operation within a «routine operation» for the search of narcotics and bladed weapons. This indicates that the action was pre-planned and not initiated due to an alert call. The interventions occurred in the early morning, with approximately 150 people present in each nightclub.
Witnesses reported that in the nightclub in San Antón Square, up to five individuals fainted due to the situation and required ambulance assistance. The police operation initially closed the doors, then allowed men to exit one by one, while women remained inside.
The outcome of the operation includes one person being investigated for a public health offense and twelve proposed sanctions for infringements of the Citizen Security Protection Law. Additionally, one woman was arrested for assaulting an authority agent. Five bladed weapons or dangerous objects were seized, including a pocket knife, a box cutter, scissors, a corkscrew, and a defense spray.
