The Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council has taken the initial steps to develop the VI Municipal Youth Plan.

The City Council has begun taking the first steps towards the elaboration of the VI Municipal Youth Plan. Following the evaluation of the current plan by the Municipal Youth Service, the participatory process to design the new document will kick off this afternoon with the Youth Elkargune (Meeting). The new roadmap will be valid for six years and is scheduled for approval and implementation in 2027.
The Councilor for Youth, Ana López de Uralde, explains that "from the Youth Service, we are clear that the new plan must be built hand-in-hand with the young people of Vitoria-Gasteiz, as they are the main protagonists. We want to take a further step and not only encourage their participation in the process but also involve them and make them stakeholders in the commitment that we will undertake from the City Council to move it forward."
This afternoon, at the Youth Elkargune, the evaluation of the current and previous plans, the preliminary analysis, the methodological design, and the process timeline will be presented.
The next phase will involve the creation of an updated diagnosis, including the design of analysis tools, fieldwork, and the preparation of a final diagnosis. This work will lead to a new stage of participation, featuring youth workshops, technical meetings, and gatherings with entities.
The fifth phase will focus on the strategic definition of the new plan, which will serve as the basis for its subsequent drafting. The process will conclude with the validation and approval of the VI Municipal Youth Plan, planned for 2027, which will shape municipal youth policies until 2033.
