Baskonia is determined to prevent external noise from influencing its planning for the upcoming season. Amidst a fresh wave of reports suggesting Barça's interest in Paolo Galbiati, the Vitoria-Gasteiz club has reiterated its commitment to the Italian coach remaining in the city, releasing a video on social media directly addressing the fanbase.
“"It is very important for me to create a connection with the Baskonistas. I have enormous respect for them because we do this for the people. I want a team with mentality, character, and the desire to play together, because in the end, the team writes history."
The coach also expressed his affection for the Buesa Arena crowd: "Seeing the arena full with my players, my staff, and our fans is incredible. I love you. Thank you all. It's incredible to be a Baskonista."
Baskonia's move is not spontaneous. In recent days, sources from the Buesa Arena have voiced surprise at reports that, rather than discussing interest or ongoing negotiations, presented a move to Barça as a done deal. "Galbiati is our coach and we are counting on him," the club insisted.
This is not the first time the club has addressed such information. Just a few days ago, sporting director Félix Fernández had already made it clear that there was "no debate" regarding the continuity of the Italian coach. Furthermore, this week Baskonia officially announced the contract renewal of Pablo Pin as an assistant within Galbiati's coaching staff.
