This initiative will extend the 'Plastic 0' campaign to the San Prudencio Festivities, with the support of the Armentia Administrative Board. The main goal is to avoid the use of approximately 250,000 single-use containers in the catering services planned for that day, thereby reducing environmental impact.
The system will follow the standard practice for such campaigns: a one-euro deposit will be required for the first drink, which can either be refunded upon returning the cup or donated to a charitable cause. This year, users will also be encouraged to donate this euro to the Lakua Sports Club, to support the organization with its economic situation. The distribution and collection of the cups will be voluntarily managed by the families of the club's players.
According to its promoters, the campaign is built on three core principles: waste reduction, operational simplicity, and social co-responsibility. This involves actively engaging institutions, hospitality businesses, and citizens in a festive model with a reduced environmental footprint.
Fundación Vital will set up five tents for the distribution and collection of cups at various locations within the Armentia fields: in front of the Administrative Board House, in the swing area, opposite the bowling alley, at the roundabout of the dealerships, and at the saint's roundabout.
