AMVISA, the water resources company of Vitoria-Gasteiz, has awarded Sacyr the contract for the cleaning, maintenance, and unblocking of the urban drainage network. These tasks will be carried out over the next three years and have a budget of 3.4 million euros.
The contract's objective is to ensure the proper functioning of the drainage system, which is essential for the evacuation of rainwater and the prevention of incidents caused by heavy rainfall or water accumulation. Specialized equipment for suction and high-pressure water jetting will be used to remove sand, organic matter, and any other elements that may hinder water circulation.
Pascual Borja, president of AMVISA, highlighted that the service also includes a permanent on-call service, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This will provide an immediate response to incidents related to flooding, blockages, or problems affecting urban drainage.
Sacyr will have the necessary human and material resources to intervene anywhere in the city within 30 minutes. The preventive maintenance plan will pay special attention to critical points and periods of leaf fall and storms.
In addition to these cleaning tasks, the awarded company will carry out inspection, surveillance, and information update activities for the drainage network to improve its knowledge and management. GPS tracking systems will also be incorporated to ensure continuous control and supervision of the teams working in the city.
