This morning, the draw took place to designate individuals for the presidencies and memberships of the Electoral Boards for the General Elections scheduled for November 29. The event was attended by Sonia Díaz de Corcuera, councilor responsible for the Registry and Electoral Processes unit; Nuria García, Acting General Secretary of the Plenary; and technical staff from various municipal departments.
The draw utilized the program from the National Statistics Institute, selecting one titular and two substitute members for each board position: presidency and two members. Additionally, the program selected another 12 individuals per position, who will be notified if the initially selected individuals cannot fill their roles.
In total, 2,727 people have been designated to staff the 303 electoral boards, located across 36 electoral premises in Vitoria-Gasteiz. From November 3 to 5, they will be notified of their designation and receive instruction manuals.
These individuals were selected from the 145,192 people who entered the draw, with the requirement that they must be under 70 years old and meet certain criteria.
The City Council will not publish the draw results to protect personal data confidentiality. However, individuals interested in knowing if they have been chosen can check in person at any civic center office and at the San Martín and San Antonio citizen service offices from November 3 to 5, upon identification and without needing an appointment.
In the upcoming elections on November 29, a total of 193,746 residents of Vitoria-Gasteiz and 7,272 residents living abroad will be able to exercise their right to vote. The electoral boards will open at 9:00 AM and close at 8:00 PM, at which point the results count will begin.
