The journey began on February 14th at the port of Zumaia. Aboard the 13-meter sailboat Urola, the two sailors set out to complete a route of over 10,000 nautical miles in less than one hundred days.
The first leg of the trip included a stop in Lanzarote before reaching the Caribbean island of Martinique. After cruising the archipelago, the return route took them through the Bermuda and Azores islands, finally concluding back in Zumaia.
“"We set our own limits, and when you truly believe in something, it is worth trying."
The return trip proved to be the most technically demanding due to weather conditions in the North Atlantic. Despite limited fuel reserves and frequent storms, the vessel did not suffer any major mechanical failures.
The arrival back in Zumaia was met with a warm welcome from friends and family. The adventure gained significant attention on social media, reaching thousands of followers throughout the three-month journey.
