The Zarautz City Council issued a warning this Monday about detected scam attempts, where fraudsters are impersonating municipal technicians to contact hospitality businesses.

The Zarautz City Council has issued an informative note to warn about a scam attempt detected in recent days, which has already affected some citizens of the coastal municipality.
According to the Council's statement, scammers are contacting various hospitality business owners in Zarautz by telephone. In these calls, the perpetrators falsely identify themselves as municipal technicians in an attempt to deceive the business managers.

"The Council reminds that any official notification is always made electronically or in writing. Furthermore, for the procedure, telephone calls from alleged technicians are not used to carry out official procedures or notifications that do not follow the aforementioned regulatory channels."
