The Urola Erdia Ispiluaren Aurrean process continues, and on October 28th, stakeholders and citizens from the region will gather in Azpeitia to define ecosocial transition strategies in energy, food, and transport.

Within the Urola Erdia Ispiluaren Aurrean process, strategies to address challenges in the fields of energy, food, and transport will be defined. These will be the three focal points of the working session to be held on October 28th in Azpeitia. The priorities agreed upon in the spring by citizens and social agents from Aizarnazabal, Azkoitia, Azpeitia, Beizama, Errezil, and Zestoa for the ecosocial transition will serve as the starting point. Now, the next step will be taken: identifying priority lines of action to move forward in each area.
Stakeholders from various sectors of the region will participate: industry, education, commerce, entrepreneurship, tourism, social agents, administration, and interested citizens. Together, they will propose lines of work for the coming years.
The working session will be another step in the Urola Erdia Ispiluaren Aurrean process. In the spring, a series of lectures aimed at citizens was held, followed by participatory sessions in the region's towns. This time, based on the reflections and priorities gathered, the perspectives and action options of regional stakeholders will be discussed.
In the first part of the session, three experts will present inspiring experiences as a starting point for subsequent work. Mikel Roman (Tokixan) will present the Debagoiena Food Strategy; Diego Gómez (INTRA) will present the Urola Medio transport action plan; and Eider Murgoitio (Goiener) will address the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition for the region.
After the experts' presentations, participants will work in round tables, addressing energy, transport, and food separately. The main question will be: what do we want to do in Urola Medio in the coming years to advance in each area? In each table, the main challenges will be contrasted, projects that can be launched in the region will be analyzed, and priority lines of action will be identified, to form a unified vision for the entire region.
The objective, therefore, is to define the next steps: what to do, what to prioritize, and what collaboration between stakeholders is necessary. The meeting will take place on October 28th, at 9:00 AM at the Basazabal Palace in Azpeitia.
