Azpeitia is celebrating the San Inazio festivities with a packed agenda of events following the opening chupinazo and popular lunch. After the midday chupinazo and the subsequent communal lunch, the festive atmosphere continued into the evening. Around 5:00 PM, the 'txosnas' (food and drink stalls) opened, and numerous young people participated in games. At 5:30 PM, young bulls from the Bergarako Zezenak ranch were featured on Done Jakue street for those over 16, and near there, by the Frontoi Txikia (Small Fronton), the Front Oi! Txiki Fest event took place with concerts by Inguma, Aurrez Aurre, Verrater, and Jipoituak.
Throughout the afternoon, after a stroll through the Old Town, a bullfight was held in the bullring with bulls from the Loreto Charro ranch. Bullfighters Daniel Luque, Borja Jimenez, and Marco Perez participated. Additionally, the Sakatu! elektrotxaranga (mobile band) paraded through the Old Town, and a mass and novena were held at the Loyola Basilica with the parish and Julian Barrenetxea choirs, accompanied by organist Itziar Urbieta. The Los Incansables txaranga also played through the town's streets, and DJs Bull and Elepunto provided music in the Olazko Andre Maria Square.
Regarding the evening events, the Etxera dining hall opened at 8:00 PM in the Azoka Plaza (Market Square). The night continued with a concert by the band Manitu in Txosnagune, followed by a fireworks display by Pirotecnia Pablo at Izarraizko Ate. Later, the group Gozategi performed a concert in the town square, and the Balantza band held a 'romeria' (traditional dance) in Txosnagune, concluding with a set by DJ Jamaiketako.
A comprehensive program has been prepared for the coming days. On July 31st, San Inazio Day, there will be a morning serenade, procession, main mass, and various concerts and events, including a Holi powder festival and a bullfight. On August 1st, the second day of San Inazio, there will be a Cod Championship, a cesta punta (Basque handball) festival, and a romeria. On August 2nd, the third day of San Inazio, there will be young bulls and a bullfight from the Marques de Saka ranch, as well as the Harrobi Dantza Betikala performance.
