The Sañu Bizirik association will celebrate Sañoa Eguna this Sunday, but first organized a talk on renewable energies at Azpeitia's Azoka Plaza to strengthen claims against regional projects.

The discussion took place yesterday afternoon in the Azoka Plaza hall, titled "The Tug-of-War of Renewable Energies," featuring a doctor in Biology and university professor, and a member of a movement opposing renewable energy projects.

"As a result of three years of struggle in defense of the land, the gigantic wind farm project in the Sañoa area has been rejected."

However, the association emphasized that it cannot be forgotten that the Territorial Sectoral Plan for Renewable Energies (LPS) has placed the Komisolatza area in Errezil – the Aizarna valley – and the border between Beizama and Bidania-Goiatz, all within the Urola Kosta region and very close to Sañoa-Etumeta, in the "crosshairs" for the construction of "macro-projects for wind and photovoltaic energy."
Sañoa Eguna will be a day of celebration and protest. To this end, excursions to Sañoa have been organized for Sunday: departing from Azpeitia at 09:00 from the square; from Zestoa at 09:00 from Gurutze; and from Errezil at 08:30.
