In Zarautz, the organizers of the Beach Soccer Championship will hold the sixth edition of the Play-Eroak Tournament on Saturday afternoon, aimed at ESO students, limited to a single day due to tide and schedule reasons.

This year's Play-Eroak Tournament, designed for ESO students, will be played on a single day, Saturday afternoon, due to tidal conditions and scheduling. Despite this modification, the organizers plan to revert to the traditional two-day format for the next edition. A total of 58 teams have registered, coming from towns such as Zarautz, Orio, Getaria, Zumaia, and Usurbil.
Participants must check in between 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM, near the 'playeros' premises on the promenade. Two reception points will be set up, one for 1st and 2nd year ESO students and another for 3rd and 4th year ESO students. It is essential that at least one representative from each team confirms their attendance, and players are asked not to go to the field beforehand, as a general warm-up session will be held after check-in.
To participate in the tournament, each player must bring a food item (canned lentils/beans, sardines, or tuna). These products will be donated to the Zarautz Food Bank for distribution among those most in need. Any citizen can also make donations. Teams will consist of seven players, with unlimited substitutions allowed during the match. There are three categories: girls, boys, and mixed. In mixed teams, at least three players of each gender must be on the field at all times. Matches will consist of two 10-minute halves, and in case of a tie, three penalties will be taken to determine the winner.
Teams playing in the first round must bring and set up their field's goal, while those playing in the last round will be responsible for collecting them and returning them to the premises. Each team must bring two shirts: one white and one of their desired color. Before each match, all players will greet each other and take a group photo. During breaks between matches, hot chocolate and fruit will be offered to players near the 'playeros' premises, so they can regain energy.
The organizers' goal is for the tournament to be 'zero waste', so all generated waste must be collected and recycled. Cups for hot chocolate cannot be taken down to the beach. Food and drink can only be consumed in the designated area, in order to keep the beach completely clean. Beyond the competition, the aim is to foster a friendly atmosphere, and prizes will be raffled among participants, such as dinners for teams, ice creams, and learning sessions in other sports (weightlifting, rowing, surfing).
