Orio Arraunketa Elkartea's Senior Men's Team Wins Spanish Batel Championship

Orio Arraunketa Elkartea had a busy weekend, following the start of the Gipuzkoa Trainerilla League and participation in the San Telmo awards.

The senior men's team from Orio Arraunketa Elkartea has clinched a gold medal at the Spanish Batel Championship, held in Legutio (Araba), concluding a weekend packed with rowing events.

Orio Arraunketa Elkartea (OAE) experienced a weekend full of rowing commitments. On Saturday, the Gipuzkoa Trainerilla League commenced in home waters, and on Sunday, the San Telmo awards were contested in Zumaia. Amidst these events, qualifying races for the Spanish Batel Championship also took place in Legutio.
OAE entered a total of four batels into the competition, and among varied results, the senior men's team brought home a gold medal. This crew was comprised of rowers Diego Perez, Mikel Lizarralde, Adrian Gonzalez, Ander Zabala, and Oihan Manterola, who completed the race in 08:38,00.
Regarding the other boats, the results were as follows: the junior boys finished fifth, the cadet boys placed sixth (winning the B final), and the cadet girls secured tenth position.
With this weekend's victory, OAE has now accumulated 19 Spanish Batel Championships across all categories. Specifically, this is the seventh championship in the senior men's category; the previous one was won in 1995 in A Coruña (Galicia).
