The Merkasaretza Service in Zarautz has launched two new aid programs for local merchants, funded by the Department of Commerce of the Basque Government.

The first grant, MEC, is aimed at modernizing commercial establishments. For the renovation of infrastructure and equipment, a minimum investment of 3,000 euros (VAT included) is required, and for the incorporation of new technologies and innovation, 1,000 euros. Investments must be made between October 1, 2025, and September 15, 2026, inclusive, or until funds are exhausted.
The second grant, MerkaEkin, targets new entrepreneurs and businesses undertaking new commercial activities, business lines, or diversification processes that involve creating new companies. The subsidized actions (business plan development and investments) must be carried out during 2026.
The deadline for applications is September 15, although the period may close earlier if funds are depleted. For further information, interested parties can contact the Merkasaretza service via email at gatc@zarautz.eus.
