A 39-year-old man drowned this morning on Orio beach. He was pulled from the water by surfers in cardiorespiratory arrest, and paramedics were unable to revive him.
The man, of European origin, died around 10 AM, according to the Ertzaintza (Basque Police).
Upon being removed from the water, the man was unconscious. Paramedics attempted resuscitation at the scene, but it was unsuccessful.
