Tickets for the screenings will be available for purchase at the Baztartxo theater box office on the day of the event, priced at five euros. This initiative aims to bring mountain culture to a wide audience.
The program, part of the itinerant Mendi Tour cycle, opens with Trango, a 45-minute feature documenting the efforts of mountaineers Christina ‘Lusti’ Lustenberger, Jim Morrison, Nick McNutt, and Chantel Astorga to complete the first ski descent of the great Trango glacier.
Additionally, Aldabide is a 12-minute documentary focusing on the challenges faced by speleologists Oskar Etxebarria and Carlos Arranz deep within the Itxina massif, in the heart of Bizkaia's Gorbea.
The lineup also includes Dear Superhero, which explores motherhood and its impact on professional athletes, drawing on the experiences of skier Janine Kuzma and snowboarder Leanne Pelosi in the mountains of the Southern Alps of New Zealand.
Thursday's session will conclude with Eternal Solo, named best climbing film at the 2025 BBK Mendi Film Bilbao-Bizkaia festival. In this film, climber Stefano Ragazzo tests himself on Eternal Flame, a legendary rock face in the heart of the Pakistani Karakoram mountain range.
