The ninth edition of the Gipuzkoako Organoak Plazara 2026 cycle, organized by Musikene and the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council, will make a stop in Azkoitia this Saturday, April 25, with a concert at the Santa María la Real parish.

The event will take place at the Santa María la Real parish, with the performance scheduled to begin at 5:30 PM. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a repertoire featuring works by composers Cesar Franck and Louis Vierné.
Mikel Ansola, a young organist from the Bizkaia town of Markina-Xemein, will be the concert's main performer. His musical beginnings were linked to his hometown and Ondarroa, where he delved into the world of the organ under the guidance of teacher Martin Alberdi.
Subsequently, he pursued higher organ studies at Musikene and continued his training at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart, under the direction of Professor Jörg Halubek. This education led him to become the titular organist of the Petruskirche in Stuttgart and to develop a mastery in the field of organ music, which will be evident in the concert in Azkoitia.
The Gipuzkoako Organoak Plazara 2026 cycle is an initiative aimed at bringing Gipuzkoa's organ heritage and organ repertoire closer to the public through a program of various activities. It includes concerts in towns such as Irún, Donostia, Usurbil, Azkoitia, and Ataun, as part of an agenda that began on April 17 and will conclude this coming Sunday, April 26.
