The San Anton Bira swimming crossing in Getaria will celebrate its seventh edition on July 26th. This sporting event, which links Gaztetape and Malkorbe beaches, often relies on sea conditions, and the organization hopes that the July 26th date will offer more opportunities to circumnavigate the island of San Anton.
The race will focus on the island of San Anton, featuring a route that combines an unparalleled coastal environment with a sporting challenge. Registration opened some time ago and there is still an opportunity to sign up well-prepared. Sixteen days remain, and we are facing one of the most attractive summer events. Join and participate. The Getaria Triathlon Club is the organization behind this swimming event, and registration must be done on the website web.rockthesport.com, with the deadline closing on July 22nd.
The crossing will once again gather both regular open water swimmers and those looking to take their first steps in this discipline. For this purpose, two routes adapted to different levels will be available.
The long course race will start at 10:00 AM from Gaztetape beach. Swimmers will proceed along the edge of Mount San Anton, following a course marked by buoys, passing Izarri punta and Masoparri, finally reaching the finish line located on Malkorbe beach.
The short course race will be 600 meters long and will start from the old pier at 9:30 AM, finishing on Malkorbe beach.
There will be two different registration fees based on the date: €35 for registrations made until July 17th, and €40 for registrations made after July 18th, until registrations are full.
Race bibs can be collected on the day of the event, from 8:00 AM to 9:15 AM, in the finish area, at the cloakroom in front of the Red Cross.
