Getaria will host a beach awareness campaign from July 15 to 19, featuring various activities at Malkorbe beach. The campaign aims to raise awareness for a coastline free of waste.
The events, running from Wednesday to Sunday, will take place between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Under the slogan 'Dive into summer to the rhythm of the waves,' the campaign will traverse the beaches with environmental workshops, free lending of beach materials, and an innovative proposal for creating music from recycled materials.
From Wednesday to Friday, responsible lending of beach materials will be available, along with a workshop to create simple musical instruments from waste. Participants will also be able to identify microplastics and engage in a 'lokotx' (seed) collection activity.
On Saturday, July 18, some of the activities from previous days will continue, including the material lending and the musical instrument creation workshop.
On Sunday, July 19, the material lending and instrument workshop will be repeated. At midday, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, there will be a musical performance directed by Trakamatrakak.
The organizers have warned that scheduled activities may be canceled due to extreme weather conditions, such as precipitation or high temperatures.
