Getaria is preparing to host its XXVIII Marmitako Competition. The event will take place on Sunday, August 9, marking the closing of the San Salvador festivities. Registration is open from today, July 14, until July 22, at 1:00 PM, at the town hall.
The competition will be held on the same day that concludes the festive program. This year, the San Salvador festivities will begin on August 5 and end on August 9.
According to the competition's rules, each team will consist of two cooks, one of whom must be from Getaria. A draw will be held among the registered participants, with a maximum of 38 teams allowed to compete.
The winners from 2025 will directly enter the competition without participating in the draw, provided they are the same individuals and register within the specified period.
In the days following the draw, participants will need to confirm as precisely as possible for how many people they will prepare the marmitako.
