The Azpeitia Town Hall has concluded the renovation works in the Etxe Alai neighborhood. Prior to the project's commencement, numerous meetings were held to inform residents about the initiative and gather their opinions and proposals. The work started in December 2024 and was executed in three phases, beginning from the lower street upwards. With the completion of the final phase, the reurbanization is now considered finished.
As explained by the Urban Planning councilors, Ander Larrañaga and Joanes Amenabar, the main objectives of the intervention were to improve the neighborhood's accessibility and pedestrian safety, as well as to give the environment a renewed appearance. To achieve this, sidewalks and paving have been renewed throughout the neighborhood, stairs have been adapted, parking spaces have been repainted, the sanitation network has been improved, and new lighting has been installed, among other tasks.
For the execution of the works, the town hall has made a total investment of 936,000 euros. The councilors highlighted that, along with the reurbanization of Urrestilla, this has been one of the municipality's most significant reurbanization investments in the last two to three years.
