Azpeitia will host the Domusa Teknik 40 MLK and 15 MLK mountain races on May 9, with a series of events organized to encourage community participation.

The Lagun Onak mountain club, in collaboration with the Azpeitia City Council, Domusa Teknik, and the cultural cooperative Kulturaz, has prepared an extensive program for the days leading up to and including the races. The organizers have adopted the motto “From the town for the town”.
This year marks the fifth edition of the long race, covering 65 kilometers with a positive elevation gain of 3,700 meters. The short race, now in its third edition, will cover 26 kilometers with a positive elevation gain of 1,400 meters. Both races will take place on May 9.
The program includes various talks and activities. On April 29, a lecture on life after a stroke will be given at Basazabal Palace. On April 30, volunteer t-shirts will be distributed, and the races will be presented at the Sanagustin cultural center.
On May 8, the day before the races, talks for LH5-6 students will be held at the Soreasu Theater and Baztartxo Theater in Azkoitia. Additionally, a farmers' market and bib collection will take place in the Market Square.
On race day, May 9, the 40 MLK race will start at 08:00 AM, and the 15 MLK race at 09:00 AM. In the afternoon, at 8:15 PM, an awards ceremony will be held, and a trip to Tenerife will be raffled among the volunteers. The day will conclude with a concert by musician Süne and a set by DJ Bull.
Furthermore, an “Blue Zone” will be set up in Ikasberri, offering awareness games, inflatables, and inclusive games, courtesy of the Real Sociedad Foundation. In Xoxote, paella will be available for tasting.
