The event will start at noon, and citizens will have the opportunity to enjoy local gastronomy. The traditional marmitako can be tasted, as well as dishes from local bars and regional txakolis.
The Aldapa association will be responsible for preparing the marmitako. Portions will be distributed from 12:30 PM, at 4 euros each. Tables will be set up in the square for attendees to eat there and seated.
In addition to marmitako, local bars will also participate, preparing other dishes that will be available for sale in the square. This way, citizens can taste various delicacies and have lunch together.
A Txakoli Day will also be celebrated. Four producers from the region will participate: Bodega Katxina, Blai Txakolindegia, Arbela Txakolina, and Zudugarai Txakolina.
For six euros, attendees can taste one txakoli from each of the four wineries. This initiative aims to promote local producers' products and bring the region's txakoli offerings closer to the citizens.
As part of the Parrilla Fest, Sunday's event will mark the end of this series of activities taking place from October 2nd to 4th. The Orio Town Council is organizing the festival for the second consecutive year, in collaboration with local stakeholders, with the aim of celebrating, promoting, and passing down Orio's gastronomic heritage through generations.
On Friday, October 2nd, the grills will be lit, and a pintxo-pote of seasonal fish will be held. On Saturday, the Town Square will transform into a giant gastronomic club, and citizens will have the opportunity to learn how to grill fish the Orio way, with the help of local grill masters.
