The Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council has made a new commercial space available to entrepreneurs at Zapatería street, 39, as part of the Casco Medieval Business Center. The premises, previously unused, have been refurbished by the Council and span 40 square meters, equipped with an alarm system, an adapted restroom, storage, and a built-in wardrobe.
This initiative is a result of the 2025 budget agreement between the Municipal Government and EH Bildu. Aspiring entrepreneurs are encouraged to establish their businesses in this Old Town location, which boasts very attractive economic conditions. The space can be occupied for a maximum of 5 years, with a 50% rent subsidy for the first 3 years.
María Nanclares, the councilor for Economic Promotion, Employment, Commerce, and Tourism, highlighted that being part of the municipal Business Centers network provides access to supplementary services such as auxiliary meeting spaces, specialized training, and personalized mentoring.
EH Bildu spokesperson, Rocio Vitero, stated that these aids aim to foster entrepreneurship and the creation of new businesses, thereby revitalizing the streets of the Old Town. She reaffirmed the commitment to support individuals starting their entrepreneurial journeys.
The network of Municipal Business Centers also includes other facilities such as the Business Center on Las Escuelas street, the Commercial Seedbed, the Open Business Center (with three units on Herrería street), and the Extended Seedbed, alongside locations on Correría street (31, 35B, 70) and now Zapatería, 39. Additionally, the Júndiz Municipal Business Center supports newly established companies, and the Basaldea Ecological Business Center in Abetxuko caters to the agro-ecological sector.
