The Deusto rowing team has enjoyed a stellar start to the season, securing their second consecutive victory this Saturday at the thirty-seventh edition of the Plentzia Regatta.

Under the guidance of Aitor Alzibar, Deusto finished seven seconds ahead of Zumaia, with the third-placed team trailing by sixteen seconds. After three races, Deusto tops the overall ARC-1 league standings, positioning themselves as strong contenders for promotion to the Eusko Label Liga, the top division the Bilbao boat has never competed in.
Kaiku significantly improved its performance from the previous weekend, climbing to fourth place in the final standings after a clear win in the first heat. Arkote also made progress, moving out of last place at the expense of Orio's B crew.
The demanding race took place in Plentzia's waters, marking the third round of the ARC-1 league, with northwest winds and swell influencing the competition. From the start, the top three teams in the standings pulled ahead. Telmo Deun posted the best time in the initial maneuver, holding a slim one-second lead over Tomatera and three over Enbata. These advantages remained consistent through the second leg, but Zarautz struggled to keep pace in the third section. The victory was contested between two boats by the third turn, with Deusto leading Zumaia by a second.
In the final stretch, the Bilbao crew managed to break their rival's resistance, mirroring their performance in the Pasaia regatta the previous week. Despite thirteen races still remaining, Deusto appears to be a very serious contender this season.
