The first event of the Azpeitia Dantzan project took place yesterday afternoon at the Soreasu theater, featuring students from the Luix Beltza dance school and the Juan Antxieta music school.

The theater, nearly full to capacity, hosted approximately a hundred dancers who performed Basque dances, accompanied by trikitixa and txistu players from the music school. The performance primarily featured dances from Gipuzkoa and Bizkaia, concluding with dances from the Northern Basque Country. Additionally, performers danced to several songs by Xabi Solano and ETS.
Yesterday's event was not the only one in this year's Azpeitia Dantzan program. Three more dance performances are scheduled. Next Sunday, the Dantzaki school of Jose Mari Orbegozo will perform. Following that, on July 11th and 19th, the Sahatsa and Itsasi dance groups will present their shows, respectively.
Tickets for all performances will be free of charge but must be reserved in advance on the Kulturaz cooperative's website.
