The Antilla beach in Orio is hosting the first round of the Basque Country Beach Handball Championship, with eighteen teams competing.

The first round of the Basque Country Beach Handball Championship has commenced at Orio's Antilla beach. Organized by the Orio Eragin handball club, the matches started in the morning and will continue until dusk. According to the organizers, eighteen teams have registered, with more than half of them being female teams.
The games are being played across four courts. Among the participants are young players from Orio and Zarautz, as well as teams from the Kukullaga club of Etxebarri and the Arangoiti club of Bilbao. Many players know each other, fostering a spirit of camaraderie that has taken precedence over pure competition.
The weather has not been entirely favorable; although the tournament started under clear skies, a drizzle began around midday. Nevertheless, the atmosphere at Antilla is excellent, enjoyed by both players and spectators.
