Azpeitia to Host V Open-Air Painting Competition This Sunday

The streets of Azpeitia will be filled with art on Sunday, May 3, as artists aim to capture the municipality's most beautiful corners on canvas.

Azpeitia will host its V Open-Air Painting Competition on Sunday, May 3, an event organized by the School of Art and Design and the City Council, with the aim of capturing the most beautiful and representative corners of the municipality on canvas.

This event, which gains more participation and recognition each year, is open to all interested individuals without a limit on entries. Works must be created throughout the day at various locations in Azpeitia, using the technique and materials preferred by each participant, provided they are original and unpublished.
Canvases will be sealed between 09:00 and 11:00 at the Betharram hall, where finished works must also be submitted between 13:00 and 13:30.
While the jury deliberates, participants can enjoy an aperitif at Sanagustin kulturgunea, while younger participants will receive sweets after submitting their works. The competition results will be announced around 14:30 during the awards ceremony at Betharram.
In the adult category, the first prize will be 800 euros, the second 500 euros, and the popular prize 300 euros. In the children's and youth categories, divided by age, winners will receive artistic material kits. Additionally, a selection of the submitted works will be displayed in an exhibition at the Betharram hall from May 4 to 17.
