Students in Azkoitia have designed two intervention plans focused on sustainable mobility and presented them today to Mayor Ana Azkoitia at the town hall.

Students from Xabier Munibe ikastola, Floreaga ikastetxea, and Azkoitia BHI, who participated in the Eskola Agenda 2030 program, unveiled the results of their work today. A total of 1,200 students from vocational training and secondary education levels took part in the project, developing two main intervention plans: "Eskolara Oinez" (To School on Foot) and "Azkoiti Bizikletaz" (Azkoitia by Bike).
In the first initiative, the students advocated for walking to school, highlighting the presence of cars in the town and the risks around the school premises. They have defined the most suitable routes from home to school and will seek parental support to ensure safety. The trial days for "Eskolara Oinez" will take place on June 8th, 9th, and 10th.
The second project, "Azkoiti Bizikletaz", has identified issues and critical points for cycling within the town. Secondary school students have proposed rules to address the shortcomings identified in last year's cycle path analysis, along with solutions for critical points in the town.

"We agree with many of the points raised, and we will try to address and fulfill the commitments that correspond to us."

She assured that the town hall would study all the proposals and urged them to continue working for the environment and the municipality. "We agree with many of the points raised, and we will try to address and fulfill the commitments that correspond to us," stated the mayor.
