Mayor Ana Azkoitia emphasized that "the commitment to sustainable mobility must be firm from both institutions and society. To combat climate change, leaving the car aside and reducing fossil fuels is everyone's responsibility."
She recalled the need to change mobility habits, prioritizing public transport, cycling, or walking. The events organized during Mobility Week should serve to raise awareness, "paving the way for energy transition is essential, it is not an option. Otherwise, we will have a bleak future."

As in previous editions, those who visit the workshop-van can participate in a raffle for two bicycles, as well as a draw for 60 top-ups of 20 euros on MUGI cards.
The main novelty is that the Gipuzkoa Regional Transport Consortium will bring the 'Misterio Topo Express' activity to Azkoitia. This scape room, lasting between 45 and 60 minutes, aims to playfully and entertainingly raise awareness about the importance of public transport, the advantages and values of the MUGI system, and promote more autonomous mobility among young people.
Deputy Azahara Domínguez explained that "fostering these values from childhood makes it easier for new generations to adopt more sustainable and healthy ways of moving." Those who successfully complete the game will also participate in the raffle for two bicycles and the top-ups for MUGI cards.
Domínguez concluded that "advocating for more sustainable mobility is not just an environmental issue: it is also a matter of social justice and equal opportunities." She added that public transport and walking or cycling allow people to move with greater autonomy, and that these initiatives "help drive Gipuzkoa forward, so that all people, especially young people, have healthier, more accessible, and more autonomous mobility, while we build a greener and fairer territory."
