The Aia team has begun its participation in the Gipuzkoa Inter-Town Pelota Championship with a clear victory, prevailing 1-2 in the first leg of the hand modality's round of sixteen elimination, played in Zizurkil.

The Gipuzkoa Inter-Town Pelota Championship commenced last weekend, with Aia participating in both the hand modality and rubber paleta. The hand competitions have already begun, and Aia has achieved excellent results in the first leg of the round of sixteen, held in Zizurkil.
The dominance displayed by the Aia players was notable in the matches they won. In the cadet category, the pair of Atorrasagasti and Illarramendi secured a resounding 1-22 victory, while in the senior category, Albeniz and Orbegozo triumphed 4-22. The youth category match, however, was more contested, ending in a 22-10 loss for Aizpuru and Iruretagoiena.
The return matches will be played this weekend at Aia's pelota court, where the team advancing to the next phase will be decided. Regarding the rubber paleta modality, the newest addition to the championship, Aia will also participate. For them, the competition will start later, as they will enter directly into the quarterfinals, facing opponents such as Hernani, Soraluze, or Zumaia.
Similar to the hand modality, the rubber paleta team will also begin the championship away from home, playing their return match on their home court.
