The town of Gorliz is set to celebrate International Nordic Walking Day on May 17 with a special route along the sea. This event aims to promote this sport, which is gaining increasing popularity in the municipality, strengthening hiking with the distinctive poles.
This recreational and non-competitive activity will feature a 7-kilometer route passing through the Urezarantza neighborhood and the beach promenade. The event is organized by the Gorliz City Council, local associations, and the Ipar Izarra Nordic Walking Bilbao club.
Participants will gather at the municipal sports center at 10:00 AM, although the official start is scheduled for 11:15 AM. The day is open to people of all ages and skill levels, with no prior experience required. Registrations can be made until May 14, and those who do not have poles can request them at the venue by indicating it during registration.
