Ugao's Ludoteka will kick off the new academic year's extracurricular activities on September 14th. The first session at the Gazteleku will take place on September 18th, and the Mirabatxo Club will launch its offerings on September 19th. Ludoteka users are children born between 2019 and 2022.
The Gazteleku will offer its activities from 17:30 to 21:00, with registration options also available on September 19th and 20th. The Mirabatxo Club, on the other hand, is aimed at young people born between 2015 and 2018, with sessions held bi-weekly on Saturdays from October to June, between 17:00 and 20:00, at Jane Jauregia. On September 19th, "Knowledge Games" have been organized.
The Reading Club will also begin its sessions on September 18th, from 18:30 to 20:15, at the library. They will meet twice a month until June.
Furthermore, the Ugao City Council will launch the Empowerment School this autumn, aiming to enhance women's autonomy and participation. Workshops on Yoga, jewelry making, pelvic floor health, and self-defense will be offered from October to December at Jane Jauregia. The registration period closes on September 30th, and can be done at the town hall or at Jane Jauregia itself.
Additionally, the Ugao City Council has organized various afternoon courses and workshops, including pattern cutting and dressmaking, leather crafting, crafts, needlework, creative sewing, drawing, and painting. There will also be two new monographic courses: a theater workshop for children and youth, and a creative writing workshop for adults. Berbalagun sessions will also be offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Wednesdays.
To conclude Ugao's festivities, a popular traditional bean stew meal was held at the Gernika plaza fronton, featuring pintxos from Álava, salad and vegetables from Zeberio, Ugao's sacraments, bread from Artea, crianza from Rioja, and desserts from Laudio.
Adif, meanwhile, will commence work to stabilize an embankment on the railway lines between Ugao and Arrigorriaga, with an investment of 1.24 million euros, to reduce the probability of falling stones and vegetation.
