The Andra Mari festivities have officially commenced in Orendain this afternoon. While the morning featured children's games and a youth lunch, the official start was signaled by firecrackers launched in the afternoon, honoring the organizers of the Eltxo Trail mountain race. The race's 10th edition is scheduled for October 17th.
Furthermore, attendees in the main square sang a bertso composed by Andoni Egia, set to the tune of Iparragirre, in tribute to the organizers. The verse celebrates the tenth edition of Eltxo Trail and commemorates Mikel.
Following this, sweets were thrown from the town hall balcony, and the band Kitadelpare from Astigarraga began their performance. Today's schedule also includes a rib-eating event, bingo, and a concert by the music group Ahantzi, running from 11:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
Additionally, Orendain is celebrating its costume day, with residents donning a wide variety of outfits, some meticulously prepared.
Festivities will continue tomorrow and the day after. The full program is available online.
