Numerous Events to Celebrate San Isidro Day in Tolosaldea

Several municipalities in the region will join on Friday, May 15, to commemorate the farmer's day with food and cultural performances.

Several municipalities in Tolosaldea will celebrate San Isidro Day on Friday, May 15, highlighting their strong connection to the primary sector with food and cultural performances.

The municipalities of the region are preparing to celebrate San Isidro Day, the farmer's day, this Friday, May 15. This festivity reflects Tolosaldea's close connection to the primary sector, a tradition that has been kept alive in many towns.
During the day, the most common activities will include meals, performances by bertsolaris, trikitilaris, and dance shows. Each town has organized its own program to honor the work and culture of the baserritarras.
In Alkiza, for example, there will be a farmer's lunch at 14:00 at the Ostatua, followed by the play Eskailerapekoa at 19:00 in the town hall's attic. In Amasa, the day will begin at 10:00 with a mass and procession, followed by a hamaiketako and lunch at 14:00. In Amezketa, a dinner for farmers has been organized at the Zazpi-Itturri society at 21:00, courtesy of Elikalur.
In Anoeta, the book Bizitza baten txatalak. Andre bat lurrari emana by Onintza Enbeita will be presented at the Lasarbe hall at 18:00. Additionally, on Saturday, a communal clean-up of roads will take place, starting from the square at 08:00. In Asteasu, there will be a mass at 11:15, followed by a children's sports exhibition in the square. At 12:30, txistorra and cider can be tasted, enlivened by trikitilaris, and at 14:00, a lunch at the Iturri-Ondo restaurant with bertsolaris Jexux Mari Irazu and Maider Arregi.
Other towns will also have celebrations: in Baliarrain, a farmer's day lunch; in Berastegi, a procession and mass with txistularis and child dancers, and a lunch at the town hall. In Berrobi, a farmer's dinner will be held at the Ostatua, and in Orendain, a mass at Andra Mari church and a farmer's lunch at the Ostatua. Finally, in Zizurkil, rural sports will take place at the fronton at 12:30, with Iñigo Zabala and Xabat Olaizola in pentathlon, and Udane Ostolaza in stone lifting, followed by lunch at the Iriarte restaurant.
