The new Topo access in Anoeta, next to door 7 of the stadium, will open to the public in early autumn, as announced by the Basque Government's Minister of Sustainable Mobility.

The new access to the Topo (local train) station in Anoeta, adjacent to gate 7 of the stadium, is set to open to the public in early autumn. This was revealed on Monday by the Basque Government's Minister of Sustainable Mobility, Susana García Chueca, during a visit to the construction site. The new facility will be completed in time for the launch of the underground line through Donostia towards La Concha and Benta Berri/Universities (scheduled before Christmas).
During the visit, García Chueca observed that the structure of the above-ground lobby is already installed, and underground, the extension of the platforms for train access has been completed. The minister highlighted that Anoeta is the second busiest station on the Topo network, with nearly three million passengers last year, trailing only the central Easo station. "With the extension of the platforms and the construction of a second access lobby, we are adapting this station to the volume of travelers it handles," she emphasized in statements to the media.
Currently, work on the new access facility for the Anoeta halt focuses on the cladding of the new lobby and the installation of stairs and elevators that will connect the underground track area with the surface. Sources from Euskal Trenbide Sarea (ETS), the public company responsible for the infrastructure, have indicated that while the current lobby is being remodeled, it will remain closed to the public most of the time but will open for events with high passenger traffic, such as Real Sociedad matches or concerts.
García Chueca stressed that the Anoeta project "is aligned with the railway transport revolution that Gipuzkoa will experience in the second half of 2026, with the opening in July of the Altza-Galtzaraborda bypass and the Donostia city center line before the end of the year."
Accompanying the minister on the visit were, among others, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Miguel Ángel Páez; the Director General of ETS, Antonio López; and a delegation from Real Sociedad, led by its president, Jokin Aperribay. Aperribay thanked the Basque Government for the "effort" involved in this project, stating it has "gone phenomenally" and "will represent a revolution and a new experience when attending Anoeta."
Real Sociedad is working to provide its members with real-time information on transport status to Anoeta, including train occupancy and station crowd data. Aperribay also suggested to García Chueca that "it will be necessary to consider adding more trains at specific times."
Finally, the minister highlighted not only the new railway infrastructure under construction but also the road and urban planning reorganization required on the surface, which will result in more pedestrian space around the stadium.
