A gathering was held in Anoeta's square to condemn the sexist assaults that occurred on Saturday night. Convened by the City Council and the Anti-Assaults commission, numerous citizens joined the event, expressing a "firm" condemnation of what happened.
The commission has offered its "full support" to the women who suffered the assaults and their loved ones. Furthermore, they announced the activation of the institutional public response protocol against violence towards women, aiming to provide adequate attention to the victims and their relatives.
We do not accept assaults that violate women's rights under any circumstances, and we want to enjoy the festivities with respect. We want Anoeta to be a safe and comfortable place for this.
To offer help to those in need, they have called for contact with the Adi eta So desk or the municipal social services. Anoeta's festivities will officially begin tomorrow, and the 24-hour phone numbers have also been provided: 688 601 679 (commission), 943 65 12 00 (city council), 112 (emergencies), and 900 84 01 11 (Satevi).
