More than a month has passed since the Korrika concluded, and the event can now be viewed with perspective. Organizers have made a very positive assessment, describing the event as "tremendous, colossal once again, beastly," and emphasizing that it was the most attended ever. They recalled that the "collective thrill" experienced in Bilbao on March 29th lasted for days.
Now, "with the foam settled," they are focusing on the present situation and the future. This year's message carriers have depicted the body, stating that our bodies, among other things, "want to growl at some and laugh at others." In this context, they have highlighted several initiatives for the Basque language as reasons for hope: thanks to the association Pantailak euskaraz and 30,000 signatories, the broadcasting of animated cartoons in Basque has been secured. Similarly, the meeting of Independentist Basques and the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Basque association Maxixatzen are "reasons to laugh and hold onto hope," demonstrating that the movement exists and will continue to live.
Returning to the Korrika's message, the seven young people stated that "step by step, we have become one body, everyone's body." Therefore, they ask not to forget this tomorrow, when each person returns to their own path. They question what we do daily, in Basque, from Basque, and for Basque, whether it is enough and if everything is within our power.
The authors of the message add that "it is done in Basque, but being Basque is not just anything. Being is also existing, somewhere in movement, in struggle." As Garikoitz Goikoetxea has also pointed out, to live in Basque in the coming decades, one must continue to fight, not to be overwhelmed by frustration and to think that what has been done so far has not been in vain. "We live thanks to someone's struggle, and they will live thanks to our struggle," they emphasize, urging to continue in the struggle, in movement, and asking that this phrase not remain solely for songs or banners.
"Old monsters come back renewed, but we have created a body. Diverse, committed, strong. And if it is here today, it will be here tomorrow too," they state, under the slogan "We are Basque and we are here. We are here and we are in Basque. We move forward, are you coming?".
